Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso is the Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition. He is a fully accomplished meditation master and internationally renowned teacher of Buddhism. Born in Tibet, he was ordained as a Buddhist monk at the age of eight and spent almost forty years in concentrated study and meditation.
Since
arriving in the West in 1977 he has worked selflessly to provide
all the conditions Westerners need to enter, make progress on and
complete the Buddhist path to happiness and peace. He has written
nineteen books on Buddhism that explain clearly and practically
every aspect of Buddha's teachings. He has trained qualified Buddhist
spiritual teachers in countries all around the world and established
over eight hundred Kadampa Buddhist Centres and groups worldwide.
Through these activities many people now have the opportunity to
develop authentic compassion, wisdom and inner peace by studying
on one of the unique study programmes he has designed.
Venerable Geshe Kelsang teaches during the year in England at the Spring and Summer Festivals.
Resident Teacher – Tim Larcombe
Tim Larcombe is the Resident Teacher for Copenhagen and has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for over 6 years.
He teaches in a straightforward and simple manner, using examples from modern day life to illustrate Buddhist principles. He believes that anyone can learn and benefit from meditation.
Tim is married to a Danish woman and they have a ten year old son. He has been living and working in Copenhagen for 5 years.
